Lemon Baked Bison Steak

Makes 4 to 6 servings.

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. (1.4 kg) Bison steak
  • 2 tbsp. (30 ml) butter or margarine
  • 2 tsp. (10 ml) salt
  • 1/4 tsp (2 ml). pepper
  • 1 large lemon, sliced
  • 2 onions, sliced
  • 1 cup (250 ml) ketchup
  • 1 tbsp. (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup (60ml) water

Method

  1. Brown steak and put in large baking dish or Dutch over. 
  2. Rub with butter and seasoning. 
  3. Cover with lemon and onion slices. 
  4. Combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and water. Pour over steak. Cover tightly. 
  5. Bake at 350 F°(175°C) for 1 1/2 hours. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
