Favorite Marinade (For Shis Kebabs)

A tasty sweet and sour marinade with a hint of ginger.

Cut 1 1/2 lbs bison steak into bite size cubes. This is easiest to do when partially thawed.


  • 1/2 cup soya sauce
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 2 tbsp cooking oil
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp pepper


  1. Pour marinade over meat and let stand for 4 -6 hours. 
  2. Soak bamboo skewers in water for a least 20 minutes, to prevent them burning. 
  3. Alternate meat cubes on skewers with chunks of red, yellow, green peppers, chunks of purple onion, snow peas, zucchini, pineapple, etc. 
  4. Barbeque on med-high heat, just till meat is medium-well done.
